Kuchipudi Dance Academy (KDA) was founded in 1996, by Mrs. Lakshmi Babu, under the guidance of her guru Padmasri Dr. Sobha Naidu, to serve Washington DC area.
KDA is an artistic institution that helps students develop an interest in the Kuchipudi dance form through classroom instructionnurture their interest in the art through participation in annual shows and public performances turn their interest in the Kuchipudi art to a passion, as the beginner lessons culminate in the form of a debut performance, the Rangapravesam.
